CHANGING CONFIG PPP AND MACTCP FOR NEW ASDE NET 56K CONNECTION

This will instruct you on how to change the Config PPP and MacTCP settings on your Macintosh to access the new ASDE Net 56K Internet Service.

  1. Go to the Apple Menu.

  2. Go to the Control Panels.

  3. Click on Config PPP.

  4. When the Config PPP window is open, select ASDE Internet for the PPP Server. Then click on Config... (See Image #1)

     

     

     

     

     

  5. In the Phone Num box, type in 562-3595. Then click on Done. (See Image #2)

  6. Now go to the Apple Menu again.

  7. Go to the Control Panels.

  8. Click on MacTCP.

     

     

     

  9. When the MacTCP window is open, click on PPP so it is highlighted and then click on More. (See Image #3)

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

  10. Under Domain Name Server Information, type asde.net in the first two boxes under Domain. In the first box under IP Address type 65.173.238.6 and in the second box under IP Address type 65.173.238.7 (See Image #4)

  11. When finished, click OK.

  12. You should now be able to connect to ASDE Net's 56K Internet Service.
