CHANGING YOUR EMAIL SETUP FOR "ASDE.NET" IN OUTLOOK EXPRESS (02/12/11)

IMPORTANT - READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY

This will instruct you on how to change your ASDE email account settings for the new e-mail server.

 

 

     

  1. Start up Outlook Express.

  2. Click on Tools on the menu bar. Then click on Accounts. (See "Image #1")

     

     

     

     

     

  3. Click on the Mail tab. (See "Image #2")

  4. Make sure your the account for your "ASDE" Email is highlighted in the Accounts column. Then click on the Properties box to the right. (See "Image #2")

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

  5. Click on the General tab at the top of the displayed window. (See "Image #3")

  6. In the Email Address box, type in your new email address (e.g., username@asde.net) (See "Image #3")

  7. Click on the Servers tab at the top of the window. (See "Image #3")

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

  8. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) and Incoming mail (POP3) boxes, you should still have mail.asde.net. (See "Image #4")

  9. In the Account name boxes, type your e-mail address. For example: asde@asde.net. (See "Image #4")

  10. Click the My server requires authentication box, so that a check mark is placed in it. (See "Image #4")

  11. You should now be able to send and receive email with this account. If you are unable to do so, you may need to change the "Outgoing server" port. (See "Image #5")

     

     

     

     

     

  12. In the Outgoing server (SMTP) box, change the 25 to a 26 Do this only if you are unable to send mail using port 25!. (See "Image #5")

  13. Click on Apply at the bottom of the window and then click on OK. (See "Image #5")

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

  14. Click on Close at the bottom of the Accounts window. (See "Image #6")
