The Burlington Jct. Rescue squad is based in Burlington Jct Mo., It is housed with the West Nodaway Fire Protection District. It's currently staffed by 29 volunteers who live in the Burlington Jct. and Clearmont area. Their primary service area is in the northwest corner of Nodaway County. Unlike the Maryville Rescue Squad, they do first response and provide extrication. They respond to approximately 40 calls a year. It was organized in March 1977, was moved back and forth between Elmo, Clearmont and Burlington. After the man power in Elmo and Clearmont decreased it was moved to Burlington Jct.
