HABITAT'S MISSION
|
Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with God's people in need by building and renovating houses so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which people can live and grow into all that God intended. |
ABOUT US
Habitat for Humanity of Nodaway County is a non-profit, nondenominational Christian housing ministry seeking to eliminate poverty housing, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites all walks of life to work together in partnership to build houses with individuals and families in need.
We are one of over 50 affiliates and campus chapters in the state of Missouri.
WHAT WE DO
Habitat for Humanity of Nodaway County provides a "hand up", not a "hand out" to families in need. We offer our partner families an opportunity to help themselves, to own a decent, affordable home of their own, which they pay for and maintain.
Partner families invest hundreds of hours of "sweat equity" into building their homes and the homes of others. The houses are sold at no profit and with no interest charged. Mortgage payments are placed in a revolving fund and used to finance additional houses.
Volunteers provide the labor, and individuals, churches, and corporate sponsors provide the money and materials to build Habitat houses.
We serve the community of Nodaway County which consists of the following cities: Maryville, Elmo, Clearmont, Burlington Junction, Quitman, Skidmore, Graham, Hopkins, Pickering, Ravenwood, Clyde, Conception Junction, Conception, Arkoe, Barnard, Guilford, and Parnell.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
